(A APCC tem um novo projeto de Serviço Voluntário Europeu
que teve início a 3 de dezembro de 2013. Os voluntários chegam a 3 de janeiro
de 2014, para seis meses de muita partilha e interação com a instituição e a
comunidade. Hoje, que é Dia Internacional do Voluntariado, apresentamo-los.

«Olá!
Sou Selin, da Turquia. Tenho 22 anos e sou licenciada,
pela Universidade Hacettepe, em Ciências Atuariais, desde Julho. Se nunca
ouviram falar, permitam-me que explique: tem que ver com análise de risco
financeiro. Enquanto frequentei a universidade, vivi em Ankara durante quatro
anos e, atualmente, moro com os meus pais e a minha irmã em Adana.
Há 9 meses que espero por conhecer a família APCC e o meu
entusiasmo aumenta a cada dia que passa. Não sei bem como me apresentar, para
ser honesta não sou muito boa a falar e a escrever assim para pessoas. Sou uma
pessoa animada e um pouco envergonhada, mas sempre tive interesse em conhecer
pessoas, em visitar novos lugares e em provar algo novo (esta última depende
muito do sítio onde estou).
A primeira vez que senti que estava a fazer algo,
realmente, útil foi há dois anos. Fiz parte de uma equipa de voluntariado em
Ankara que foi criada para dar apoio a crianças com dificuldades socioeconómicas.
Ajudei nas aulas, abordando assuntos anunciados semanalmente e cultura
universitária. Foi a minha primeira experiência de voluntariado, que durou dois
anos e me encorajou a participar no SVE (Serviço Voluntário Europeu). Procurei
um projeto em que me enquadrasse. Agora que vos escrevo esta pequena
apresentação, sei que, quando chegar a Coimbra, pessoas simpáticas e
sorridentes estarão à minha espera e eu estarei a sorrir também!»

I’m
Selin, from Turkey. I’m 22 and graduated from Hacettepe University with a
bachelor’s degree in actuarial science last July. If you haven’t heard it
before let me explain; it is about risk analysis and insurance-finance
mathematics. When I was at university I
lived in Ankara for 4 years and now I ‘m living with my parents and sister in
Adana.
I’ve been
waiting to meet APCC family for 9 months and my excitement is increasing with
each passing day. Actually I don’t know how to introduce myself, to be honest I
am really not good at speaking or writing in front of people. I am little bit excited
and shy person but still I have always been keen on getting to know people,
being in new places, tasting something new (The last one depends on where I am in).
The first
time that I feel like I really do something useful was 2 years ago. I had been a member of Ankara Volunteer Team which has
founded in order to assist the children having socioeconomic difficulties. I
was helping their lessons, talking about
the weekly announced subjects and university culture. It was my first
volunteering experience and lasted 2 years. And this experience encouraged me to
do EVS. I started searching for a project to fit me. Now I am writing this
small presentation to you, I know that when I arrive in Coimbra, very friendly,
smiling people will be waiting for me and I will be smiling too!»
